The search feature lets you quickly find restaurants by name or cuisine type without scrolling through the entire feed. You can also search for a specific dish across all menus at a particular restaurant.

Searching for a Restaurant

Tap the search icon (magnifying glass) in the top-right corner of the Takeout screen to open the search page. Start typing a restaurant name, cuisine type, or even a dish — for example “sushi”, “pizza”, or “pad thai”. Results appear as you type, with a short delay to avoid searching on every keystroke. Each result shows the restaurant’s:
  • Cover photo
  • Name and cuisine type
  • Star rating and review count
  • Any active promotions
  • Whether they’re currently accepting orders
Tap any result to go directly to that restaurant’s menu. Filtering search results by cuisine: After running a search, cuisine type tags appear below the result count. Tapping one of these tags immediately re-runs the search filtered to that cuisine — useful when your search returns a broad mix of results. Loading more results: Search results load 20 at a time. Scroll to the bottom of the list to automatically load the next page. Clearing the search: Tap the × icon inside the search bar to clear your query and reset the results.

Searching Within a Restaurant Menu

Once you’re inside a restaurant, you can search their specific menu for dishes. To search a restaurant’s menu:
  1. Open the restaurant’s menu page
  2. Tap the search icon in the header
  3. Type a dish name or keyword — for example “chicken” or “vegetarian”
Results appear instantly from that restaurant’s published menu items only. Each result shows the dish image, name, price, and category. Tap any dish to open its detail sheet where you can customize and add it to your cart.
Menu search only covers the restaurant you’re currently viewing. To search across all restaurants, use the main search from the Takeout screen.

Search Tips

  • Keep it short — searching “sushi” works better than “best sushi restaurant near me”
  • Try the dish — if you know what you want to eat, search for the dish name directly
  • Use cuisine tags — after searching, tap a cuisine chip to narrow results without retyping
  • Check the cuisine feed — if you want to browse all restaurants of a type rather than searching, tap a cuisine category icon on the main Takeout screen instead
