# Sign in

Welcome to Local Pass — your all-in-one app for local living. This guide walks you through how to sign in or create a new account for the first time.

## Getting to the Sign-In Screen

When you open the Local Pass app, you will land on the sign-in screen. You will see the Local Pass logo and the tagline **"Your Super App For Local Living."**

From here you have several options depending on whether you already have an account.

## Sign-In Options

### Continue with Google

This is the fastest way to get started if you have a Google account.

1. Tap **Continue with Google**.
2. Select your Google account from the list that appears.
3. You will be taken directly to the Local Pass home screen.

  If this is your first time signing in with Google, you will be redirected through a short onboarding flow before reaching the home screen.

### Continue with Email

If you prefer to use an email address and password:

1. Tap **Continue with email**.
2. Enter your **email address** in the first field.
3. Enter your **password** in the second field.
4. Tap the eye icon on the right side of the password field if you want to show or hide your password.
5. Tap **Login**.

### Forgot Your Password?

If you cannot remember your password:

1. Tap **Continue with email**.
2. Type your email address into the email field.
3. Tap **Forgot Password?**
4. A password reset link will be sent to your email address.
5. Open the email and follow the link to set a new password.

  You must enter your email address in the field before tapping "Forgot Password?" or the app will show an error asking for an email.

### Driver Login

If you're registering as a driver on Local Pass, tap **Driver Login** instead of the standard sign-in options. This takes you to the dedicated driver sign-in screen.

## Creating a New Account

If you do not have a Local Pass account yet:

1. From the sign-in screen, tap **Create Account**.
2. You will be taken to the account creation page where you can register with your name, email, and a password.

## Signing In with a Referral Code

If a friend shared a referral link with you, open that link on your device. The app will automatically recognise the referral code and display a message such as:

> **"\[Friend's name] invited you to experience Local Pass!"**

You will also see a note confirming that you will receive **3 free deliveries** as a welcome bonus when you join through a referral.

<Tip>
  Make sure to create your account through the referral link to claim your free deliveries. The bonus is applied automatically during sign-up.

## Troubleshooting Sign-In Issues

| Problem                    | What to do                                                                  |
| -------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| "Email required!" message  | Make sure you have typed your email before tapping Login or Forgot Password |
| Cannot sign in with Google | Check your internet connection and try again                                |
| Password not working       | Use the Forgot Password option to reset it                                  |
| App not loading            | Close and reopen the app, then try again                                    |
