# Delivery zones

**Where to find it:** Fulfillment Settings → Delivery Settings → **Custom Delivery Zones** (this is a section on the Delivery Settings page, not a separate screen)

  Custom zones — and the standard delivery fee/radius fields they override — only appear once **Use Own Delivery Fleet** is turned on. See [Delivery](/restaurants/order-fulfillment/delivery) for why.

Delivery zones define the geographic areas you are willing to deliver to. Instead of using a simple radius circle, Local Pass calculates zones using **actual drive time from your business address** (via Mapbox) — giving you a much more accurate and realistic picture of what is reachable than a straight-line distance would.

For example, a 15-minute drive-time zone near a waterfront will look very different from one in the middle of a grid-based city.

## Adding a new delivery zone

1. Turn on **Custom Delivery Zones**, then tap **Add Custom Zone**
2. Fill in the zone details:

| Field                 | Description                                                                     |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Zone Name**         | A label for this zone (e.g., "City Centre", "North End", "University District") |
| **Delivery Fee (\$)** | The fee charged to customers ordering from within this zone                     |
| **Min Order (\$)**    | The minimum order value required to qualify for delivery to this zone           |

3. Use the **Drive Time Range slider** to set your delivery radius in minutes (5 to 60 minutes, in 5-minute steps)
4. Tap **Save Zone**

  Start with your most common delivery area. You can always add more zones later with different fees and minimums.

## Editing an existing zone

Tap the **edit icon** on a zone card to open it back up — the saved name, fee, minimum order, and drive time are all pre-filled and ready to adjust. Move the **Drive Time Range slider** to change the radius, then tap **Save Zone** again.

Tap the **trash icon** on a zone card to delete it. If you delete your last remaining zone, Custom Delivery Zones turns itself back off.

## Map availability

  On web, the zone boundary is calculated and saved correctly even though the map isn't displayed. You can view the zone visually on the mobile app after saving.

## Tips for setting up your zones

* **Create multiple zones** with different fees — for example, a lower fee for nearby neighbourhoods and a higher fee for areas further away
* **Use minimum order amounts** to ensure delivery to distant zones remains profitable
* **Shorter drive times** (e.g., 10–15 min) are better for hot food that needs to arrive quickly; **longer times** (e.g., 30–45 min) work for packaged goods or cold items
