# Earnings & Payouts

Local Pass pays drivers through **Stripe Connect**. Your earnings accumulate in your driver balance and are paid out either automatically every week or on-demand whenever you choose.

## How Your Earnings Are Calculated

Your payout is made up of three components:

| Component         | How It's Calculated                       |
| :---------------- | :---------------------------------------- |
| **Base Pay**      | \$0.35 per km driven (distance allowance) |
| **Engaged Time**  | \$21.43 per hour of active delivery time  |
| **Customer Tips** | 100% passed through to you                |

The **Cash Out** button on the Wallet screen shows your current combined balance ready for transfer.

  The base pay displayed in your wallet and on the completion screen is an estimate. Final confirmed amounts appear in your Stripe account after the transfer is processed.

## Automatic Weekly Payouts

**Local Pass automatically pays all drivers every Monday at 3:00 AM Pacific Time (Vancouver).**

There is nothing you need to do — as long as your Stripe account is properly set up and your balance meets the minimum, the transfer happens automatically.

### Minimum Transfer Amount

Automatic payouts only process if your balance is **\$5.00 or more**. Balances below \$5.00 are held until the following Monday when they may have grown enough to meet the threshold.

### What Gets Transferred

Each Monday payout includes:

* Your accumulated base pay balance
* Any unpaid customer tips
* Reimbursement for engaged time

After a successful automatic transfer, all of these reset to zero in preparation for the next week.

### If a Payout Fails

If an automatic payout fails (e.g., your Stripe account has an issue), you'll still see your balance in the app. Contact support or check your Stripe account to resolve any account issues, then the following week's run will retry.

## Manual Cash Out

You can also cash out any time you want without waiting for the Monday run.

### Standard Transfer

1. Go to **Driver Profile → Wallet** (or **Payments → Wallet**).
2. Tap **Cash Out \$\[amount]**.
3. Confirm the pop-up.
4. Funds are transferred to your Stripe connected account. From there, Stripe deposits to your bank account — timing depends on your bank (typically 1–2 business days for standard transfers).

### Instant Payout

For faster access to your money, tap **Instant Payout**.

* Funds arrive in your bank account within **30 minutes**.
* A **\$1.00 fee** is deducted from the transfer amount for instant payouts.
* The confirmation dialog shows the exact amount after the fee is applied.

  Instant Payout requires your Stripe account to have a debit card attached and enabled for instant transfers. If the button doesn't work, see the Payouts Help Centre in the app (tap **Help** on the Wallet screen) to check your eligibility.

### Checking Instant Payout Eligibility

From the Wallet screen, tap **Help → Check for Instant Payouts Eligibility**. The app checks your Stripe account and tells you whether instant transfers are enabled. If they're not, you'll be directed to complete setup in your Stripe dashboard.

## Transfer History

Below the cash out buttons on the Wallet screen, your full **transfer history** is listed showing:

* Date of each transfer
* Amount transferred

Tap any entry to see more detail.

## Payment Breakdown

The Wallet screen shows a detailed breakdown of your current unpaid balance:

| **Adjusted Amount**    | Calculated as (distance km × \$0.35) + (engaged time hrs × \$21.43) |

| **Travelled Distance** | Total km driven across unpaid deliveries                            |
| **Distance Allowance** | Distance km × \$0.35                                                |
| **Engaged Time**       | Total active delivery minutes                                       |
